NATIONAL NIGHT OUT--- August 2nd, 2016
NEW MILFORD TO JOIN CITIES NATIONWIDE FOR
“ AMERICA’S NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME AND TERRORISM”
On Tuesday August 2nd, 2016 neighborhoods throughout New Milford are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 33rd Annual “National Night Out” crime and drug prevention event. “National Night Out” which is sponsored by the New Milford Police Department, Drug Alliance, and many local businesses and organizations will involve over 11,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world. In all, over 38 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime and Terrorism” on August 2nd.
New Milford will be hosting a GIANT town wide block party on Memorial Field, directly behind Borough Hall (930 River Rd). From 7pm to 10pm, residents in New Milford and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Among the highlights will be amusement rides, music, food vendors, law enforcement and emergency services displays, ice cream, face painting, dunk tank, displays from the Army, Navy, and Marines, and much more.
This is a night for America to stand together to promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer nation. On August 2nd, we invite the residents to join us in Giving Crime, Drugs, & Terrorism a Going Away Party.
