7th Annual Reservoir Challenge

presented by Hackensack Riverkeeper and United WaterDescription: The Reservoir Challenge is a fundraiser- all proceeds go to Hackensack Riverkeeper* to continue their work to protect, preserve and restore the river and its watershed.
Let the races begin!

The day starts off with a race where paddlers can enter in the 5K or the full 10K course which is recommended for the more experienced paddler. There will be men’s and women’s classes, too!

Nearly as intense as election time!

After the last paddler crosses the finish line, it is time for the highly entertaining Mayor’s Cup Race. Watch as local elected officials go paddle to paddle for the coveted trophy. Will your Mayor win? Come and see for yourself because spectators watch FREE!!!

You can cheer or jeer; we won’t tell.

It is your Business!

To make this challenge a perfect tri-fecta, we have brought a new event to the day – the Corporate Cup Challenge. Local companies will field relay teams of six paddlers, and compete for bragging rights and the legendary Corporate Cup.

Landlubbers Unite!

All this fun PLUS live music and food will be available. Looking for children’s activities, too? We got ’em! United Water staff will once again offer some fun, kid-friendly projects and they will also be giving out their best product – fresh, clean, and cool – WATER!

Paddle away!

We just can’t end it there. For those who’d like a nice leisurely paddle on the reservoir, we’ve got you covered. Join us for an open paddle to end the day. Your boat or ours, come and enjoy nature at its finest. Be sure to register early as rental boats are limited.

Our Reservoir Challenge event is one of the few times that the public has access to paddle the beautiful, and serene Oradell Reservoir. Thanks to United Water and the Borough of Haworth, for their efforts that give us opportunity to enjoy this jewel of the Hackensack River watershed again this year!
